Vocal Director
Denise Sanborn
Denise, aka “Mama” to many of the students, is in her 38th year of teaching Music. After spending 14 years at MMS and LHS in Laconia, she started teaching in Gilford in 1999. Having taught many different music courses over the course of her career, she now runs the choral program, grades 5-12. As an accompanist, she has played for over 80 musicals, with Laconia, Gilford, Streetcar Co. Franklin Footlight Theatre, Pittsfield Players, Winnipesaukee Playhouse and more. She also serves as the accompanist for choral festivals occasionally and teaches private piano when she can. In her spare time she enjoys time with her three grandchildren, Charlotte, Brady & Emery. Her “kids” here at school become her family, and she cherishes the relationships that last far beyond their years here!

Technical Director
Scott Piddington
Scott has been helping students figure out how to design, implement, & run sets, lights, & sound here in the Gilford HS theatre for 43 years since the Spring of 1979. It’s kind of hard to believe. He is on the board of the New Hampshire Educational Theatre Guild (since ~88) and an NH representative to the New England Drama Council (since ~89). He is an avid hiker, backpacker, & backcountry XC skier. The crazy thing is that he is also a double-triple crown long distance thru-hiker having hiked the Appalachian Trail, Continental Divide Trail, & Pacific Crest Trail, all 3 twice. Yes, that’s over 17,000 miles. He is grateful to have been a part of the lives of so many phenomenal students on this stage.

Lighting Designer
Alex Worthley
Alex has a true passion for theater. Growing up in Massachusetts and visiting the Theater District in Boston sparked Alex's interest in Lighting Design. With his parents in the entertainment industry, he has had much experience in both the theater and dance worlds. Alex spent much time in his younger years at the J. Everett Collins Center with his Dad, Scott Worthley, who is the Technical Director and Manager of the venue and a graduate of Gilford High School Tech. Alex learned the in's and out's of many aspects of theater at a young age and knew that lighting was his true calling. Alex is presently a student at Plymouth State University majoring in Theater Arts with a concentration in Lighting design and freelances as a lighting designer and technician.
