True West Cast

Doy Demsick (Austin)
A late-comer to theatre, Doy gained performance experience parodying Bible stories up North, getting shot by cowboys out West, and pretending to be straight in the Marine Corps out East. His first foray into Theatre was down South with Vero Beach Theatre Guild in Run For Your Wife, Cash on Delivery and Lend Me a Tenor. Now he’s excited to be here in his fourth show with FTE after Murder By Poe, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and Bad Seed. He’d like to thank the cast, crew and leadership for all the effort that went into this great show.
Josh Pastell (Lee)
Josh Pastell is excited to be joining the crew in the FTE production of True West. He has had the pleasure of performing in several shows with FTE and other local theatre, in years past, where he played Kenickie in Grease, Bo in Bus Stop, Roy in Lone Star, Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, and the list goes on. Josh has served the community, not only by supporting local theatre, but had the privilege of working as a Fredericksburg Police Officer, where he kept the community safe and had the pleasure of working with Fredericksburg’s finest. He is a native to the area, born and raised in Stafford County and graduated from James Monroe High School in 2002. He spent 14 years in the Air Force and currently has the privilege of working down at Dahlgren Navy Base. When he is not working, he is spending his time with his family, his wife Kristal and two awesome boys Kye and Asher. After a 8 year hiatus from the stage, Josh is truly honored to be able to get back on-stage and bring some of the best entertainment to the local community.
Andy Braden (Saul Kimmer)
Andy Braden is excited to be returning to the FTE stage again for the 2023 season! Andy has been performing locally for the past 19 years in the community and professionally and was last seen with FTE last fall as Mitchell in The Little Dog Laughed, as well as Martin Gray in The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, and Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew to round out 2022. Other recent roles (2021) include FTE's Much Ado About Nothing (Don Pedro) and Nevermore, and well as Mr. Alonzo Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis at Riverside Center. Andy is honored to be supporting this stellar cast and crew to bring this story to the stage!
Anne Kight Lloyd (Mom)
Anne Kight Lloyd has been involved with theatre since the tender age of three. Years of drama, dance and art lessons followed, along with appearances in community theatre and school productions. Anne made her off Broadway debut when she was 13. In addition to off Broadway, she has acted in regional and community theatre productions, on radio, television and in films. A former member of the Board, True West marks Anne’s return to the FTE stage since before the pandemic. Many thanks to Devon, the production team and her fellow actors, and much love to her husband, Trip.
David Sobyra (Understudy)
Dave makes his triumphant return to the theater after a brief 44-year hiatus following his noteworthy performances in high school productions of Oliver! (Artful Dodger), M*A*S*H (Father Mulcahy), and Annie Get Your Gun (Buffalo Bill Cody). In the interim, Dave spent his time acting the part of a Marine helicopter pilot and has a recurring role in a Department of Defense soap opera about bureaucracy and national security. Although not a newcomer to Fredericksburg, Dave is new to FTE and excited to be part of this amazing group. Dave sends his thanks and good vibes to the cast, crew and leadership for the opportunity to contribute to this fantastic show.
