David Dudley
David is a playwright, journalist and educator. His plays have been performed in New York, Boston, California, Chicago, Arizona, and Vermont. His play 800 Days of Solitude: A Conjuring was a Playwrights Week at The Lark finalist; runner-up for the Core Apprentice program at the National Playwrights’ Center; and was shortlisted for the Theatre503 playwriting competition, in London. Gorillas in the Sky, a full-length play, was a finalist at the WordBRIDGE Playwrights Lab, and a semi-finalist at the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference. His play 24 Minutes was a finalist for the Heideman Award at Actors' Theatre of Louisville, and was performed as part of AFTER ORLANDO, an international theatre action. David served as a script reader for Steppenwolf Theater and Victory Gardens. He apprenticed with Bread & Puppet theater (with whom he has worked as a performer and deviser since 2010), and The Wooster Group. He is a regular contributor to American Theatre Magazine and HowlRound.com.

Original Creative Team

This play was written as part of the international theatre action, After Orlando. It was presented as a staged reading by Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in association with NoPassport Theatre Alliance and Missing Bolts Productions, on September 22nd, 2016.

It was then presented as a staged reading at KCACTF, in Indianapolis, IN, January of 2017. The play was also named a finalist for the Heideman award at Actors’ Theatre of Louisville.
