About It's My Party! by Ann Timmons

100 YEARS AGO, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC,

WOMEN WON THE RIGHT TO VOTE.

Hunger strikes…

Beatings…

Bombings…

Do you know the story?

IN SEPTEMBER 2021 ECHO THEATRE WILL PRESENT:

"It’s My Party!" by Ann Timmons

Directed by Carson McCain

Based on real, historical figures, It's My Party! delves into the turbulent backstory of the fight to pass the 19th Amendment. Facing an uphill battle in Washington, some suffragists employ increasingly radical tactics to make their voices heard, leading to bitter rivalries and a generational split that threatened to tear the suffragists’ movement apart from the inside!

After over a year of social distancing, Echo Theatre celebrates the Centennial of the 19th Amendment and the incredible true story of the women who made it possible for Half of our Citizens to participate in the political process. This online reading is appropriate for all ages and is an important theater event for the next generations of Voters!

It's My Party! was originally developed in conjunction with Pipeline Playwrights. www.pipelineplaywrights.org
