Choreographer
Paij HardyBorn in Washington, DC, Paij began her training at the New Hope Academy under the instruction of Concha Egea Marchitelli. She continued her training at the Marcellus Dance Studio where her graceful yet powerful performances (attributed to her dedication and loyalty to a variety of techniques) moved her peers and audiences alike. Paij continued studying dance simultaneously under the tutelage of Michelle "Ms. Mimi" McDonald (Kettering Middle School), Adrian V. James (Kettering Middle School) and Maya Yamada (Eleanor Roosevelt High School). Some of her most memorable performances include B.E.T. television, the White House, Kennedy Center, USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), the Department of Army and Navy and in Peter Pucci's debut of "Migration." Passionate about using dance to speak a universal language that sparks "much needed" conversation, even if controversial, Paij continues to demonstrate a relentless commitment to engage audiences in a meaningful art form. Paij began her journey as a choreographer in 2013 for the Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. Sr. High School Dance Company and has since choreographed for various events and created her own dance company, The ComPAHny. As choreographer, she has used her choreographic-voice to create pieces advocating for various causes, evoking strong emotional responses from both her dancers and the audience. As a result her pieces have been taken to the Regional and National High School Dance Festivals and State Showcases, showcased in Music at the Monument, a summer concert series benefiting veterans and youth, and featured in the Luxury Magazine (http://luxuryexperience.com/destinations/north_america/postcards_from_washington%2c_dc%2c_usa.html). The ComPAHny, formed in May 2018, continues the dialogue and encourages healing, education, and connection. It is her hope that her contributions will continue to be the "much needed" catalyst for change.
