About Shakespeare Spectacular

The Upstart Crow Theatre Company is attempting something we consider unprecedented: two Shakespeare shows in one evening. Please join us for a Midsummer Night's Dream in which four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.

Following Midsummer, we'll perform Macbeth. In Macbeth, three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be King of Scotland. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king, and kills more people out of paranoia. Civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more death.

Dakota Ridge High School

The Upstart Crow Theatre Company had its first production in 1996 followed by its first musical, "The Music Man" in 1997.  Since that time, the Dakota Ridge stage has seen over 50 productions with five different directors, each bringing her or his own unique flair and talents to the department.  Throughout the years, the program has striven to achieve the same goal: to introduce as many students as possible to the dramatic and performing arts while maintaining a high quality program.
