About Steve Hunter and John Dickie

John Dickie (vocals/mandolin/harmonica) and Steve Hunter, (piano/vocals), work together as a blues and roots duo.

In 2009 they released a blues and boogie woogie CD called “Walking to New Orleans”; unique takes on blues and boogie standards such as “Careless Love”, “I’m Ready”, “Roll ‘Em Pete”, and “It’ll Be Me”, a rockin’ Jerry Lewis tune.  Artists we pay tribute to in concert are Fats Domino, The Band, John Lee Hooker Louis Prima, Leadbelly, Dr.John, Woody Guthrie, Professor Longhair, Ray Charles and Taj Mahal.

They have worked with international artists. For Example: The Neville Brothers, James Cotton, Etta James, Emmy Lou Harris, Chet Atkins, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Bobby Vinton, Petula Clark and many others.

Steve Hunter has been playing professionally since 1977; John Dickie since 1965. John also worked in radio for 17 years at Toronto radio stations Q-107 & CFRB. John and Steve’s knowledge of music is impressive, ranging from folk to blues/R&B and everything in between.
