About A Virtual Christmas Carol

Authored by Disney writers Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus, A Virtual Christmas Carol is a modern riff on a holiday favorite.  See the cast list here.

Like Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, the action of this play centers on the elderly miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, whose "Bah Humbug" spirit makes life miserable for his employees and family members. With the help of familiar spirits like Scrooge's former business partner, Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, Scrooge embarks on a journey of self-discovery and ultimately learns the true meaning of the holiday season: kindness, human connection, and altruism.

Narrated by Charles Dickens, and set against the backdrop of a series of Zoom calls with some of your favorite characters from Dickens's classic novella, this hilariously heart-warming play is sure to become a treasured part of your holiday traditions.

A Virtual Christmas Carol is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado.

Black Swamp Players

Black Swamp Players has produced more than 260 plays, operettas, and musicals over its fifty-two-year history, but never owned its own brick-and-mortar structure until the summer of 2019 when the organization began leasing-to-own the property at 115 East Oak Street in Bowling Green. Since that time we have been actively engaged in a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to purchase the property before our lease agreement ends in July 2021.

After making a sizeable down payment on the $175,000 purchase price, we currently owe $140,000 to the current property owners. Our capital campaign already has raised approximately half of the needed funds.  Please consider supporting Black Swamp Players by making a contribution at www.blackswampplayers.org/capital-campaign.
