About Us/History

Feeling a strong call to develop Christian drama on the Delmarva Peninsula and recognizing the need to present the Gospel in a format that will attract the unchurched, Power Production Ministries was started in 1992 by Dean DeFino. Using a small inheritance from his recently deceased mother, he purchased equipment and began developing an original Christian musical in her memory. The result was “The First Martyr”, produced and presented in various locations throughout the region. It’s powerful and touching message has blessed the lives of many and has become the flagship production of the company. Since then the ministry has produced several large musical productions, plays, children’s musicals and monologue “Power Parables.” We reach out to churches and individuals of all faiths and denominations to lift up the name of Christ.

Our Mission

Power Production Ministries, Inc. is an inter-denominational Christian theater group whose sole mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through large-scale original productions & musicals, monologues (Power Parables”), music, and multi-media presentations. Our goal is to get as many Christian churches from all denominations as well as community organizations involved as possible to deliver the Gospel and support our Delmarva community.

Our Vision

Over the past 20 years, we have seen a drastic decline in ministerial and community Christian drama and music/choral presentations independently as well as in churches and youth groups. It is our goal at Power Productions to relight the flame of these outreaches and grow a new vision of using the arts to minister the Gospel of Christ and share values such as love, forgiveness, hope, peace, and joy. We are asking everyone in our community share in this cause through prayer, participation, and support.

Power Production Ministries, Inc. is one of the last Christian drama and music ministries in the area. We were established in 1992, doing many dramas throughout the 90s, seeing many souls saved or rededicated to Christ. Since 2011, we have been flooding the ministry with new original Christian plays, including multimedia and choral integration with our productions.

We urge everyone to become a part of Power Productions, especially in these times of global unrest; let’s come together and let God minister through our efforts reaching out to those in need, sharing the awesome wonder of the Love of Christ.

The Delmarva Tour (2023 - )

We launched the Delmarva Tour in 2023 with an initial drive-in showing of one of our original productions at Cambridge, MD, where many dedicated their lives to Christ. The tour continues as we travel throughout Delmarva sharing the Gospel through our filmed productions and dramatic works.
