Here at the Performing Arts Center on the Square, we believe that theater is for people of all ages! Our shows always fall under one of two categories, Main Stage productions and KidStage productions.

Our Main Stage productions are for community members of all ages and experience levels. Whether you have been on the stage 100 times or are looking to try something new, you have the opportunity to shine. The fear of public speaking is the number one phobia in the world. Theater offers an encouraging and safe environment to grow and gain confidence in yourself. Never let fear stop you! If you're still not interested in performing, we are always looking for people interested in sound, lighting, costume, make-up, hair, set construction, and more.

At PACOTS, we believe that theater education should begin early. That's why our KidStage program specializes in theater education. KidStage teaches the basics in many areas of theater, from acting, singing, and dancing, to sound, lighting, costumes, make-up, hair, and set construction. Theater is beneficial to children in many ways, including gaining confidence, finding their voice, making friends, and giving them lifelong memories.

AUDITIONS for FATHER KNOWS BEST!

Auditions for our upcoming MainStage show, Father Knows Best, will be Tuesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 11 at 6:00 at Center on the Square (you only need to come to one day or the other). Auditions are open to everyone regardless of age or experience. Preparation is not needed as the audition is a cold reading of parts of the script. Father Knows Best will be directed by Casey Rausch, and show dates are June 13-15 at 7:00 and June 15 and 16 at 2:00.

A brief synopsis of this play: Getting her first date with Ralph wasn't easy and Betty's afraid it'll be her last. After reading a newspaper story about teenage elopement, Father has decided he'd better get acquainted with the young man first. He asks the family what's so awful about spending an evening at home? Nothing—but it seems that Bud, Kathy and even Mother have made plans to go out. Aggravated, Father puts his foot down and they all stay home. The town's social life is suddenly centered on the Anderson household. The excitement and humorous complications grow and then, in the final scene, Father discovers that while he may know best, the young people know a little, too.

Summer KidStage Session Registration NOW open!

The Summer KidStage session will be open to students who are going into 3rd grade through going into 12th grade and will meet on weekdays during the month of June (starting June 3). Students in 3rd-6th grade will meet on weekday mornings from 9am-12pm. They will be working on the show Mr Toad's Mad Adventure. Students in 7th-12th will meet weekdays 1pm-4pm and will be working on the show The Jungle Book. Both of these shows are musicals and the dates of the performances are June 27-30.

Auditions will be Tuesday and Thursday, May 21 and 23 at 6:00 - 7:30 (no need to come to both, just pick one day). There will be a brief parent meeting at the beginning of the audition so please parents make sure you plan to stay for approximately 15 minutes, and please make plans to pay at this time if possible. There is no need for students to prepare for auditions - they will be reading from parts of the script. We do our best to cast every child who auditions - so there is should be no fear of "not making it".
