A NEW START
As 2021 comes to a close, Eclectic Full Contact Theatre finds itself on the brink of a new....well...everything. We find ourselves having to find a new theatrical venue for the first time in our 10 year history. We're still dealing with covid restrictions and uncertainty, and focusing on projects highlighting new works and new technologies to increase the accessibility of theatre. So it's safe to say this is back to business as UNusual as you can get. Which, we have to admit, is as exciting as it is challenging! This holiday season, we'll be streaming an audio production of A Christmas Carol, adapted by our Artistic Director, Andrew Pond. Featuring a full cast and some incredible sound design, it's an immersive auditory event that will be sure to become your new holiday tradition. We go live on stage at the Edge Theater in Chicago in March with our Patchwork New Play Festival, a rotating rep celebration of 9 of the best new short plays over two weekends. Part of EFCT's commitment to highlighting new voices and new stories, the Patchwork Festival will also be livestreamed, offering access to everyone, regardless of geography or mobility. We'll also be continuing our Half Hour Audio Hour anthology podcast, highlighting a new short audio drama every month, highlighting the work of women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ artists And in June of 2022 we'll be producing the Noel Coward classic, "Blithe Spirit" at the Skokie Theatre in Skokie, IL. It's the last stop on what is the most nomadic season Ecelctic has ever known. Chicago, Skokie, the airwaves--we're everywhere! But to do that, we need to raise funds to help cover the costs of all these productions. New technology, equipment, and our own stubborn insistence on paying all our artists, takes money. All donations are tax deductible, so come and be part of the start of the new era of Eclectic Full Contact Theatre!
